Any Indian citizen aged 10 years and above who does not already possess a basic bank savings account. Can be opened at any bank branch or Business Correspondent (Bank Mitra) outlet. Overdraft facility requires age between 18 and 65 years and 6 months of satisfactory account operation.

How to Apply

1. Download the PMJDY account opening form from https://pmjdy.gov.in (available in Hindi and English) or obtain it from any public/private bank branch or Bank Mitra kiosk. 2. Fill in personal details, Aadhaar number, mobile number, nomination details, and occupation. 3. Attach self-attested photocopy of Aadhaar Card and passport size photograph. 4. Submit form at the nearest bank branch or Bank Mitra kiosk for biometric e-KYC. 5. The bank activates the account within 1–3 business days and issues a personalized RuPay debit card and passbook.
